Cassette tapes are a thing of the past…
But Cazzette is the thing of the future!
Cazzette is a Swedish EDM duo founded in 2011 by Alexander Bjorklund and Sebastian Furrer. Soon thereafter they became a part of the 2012 explosion of Swedish EDM music. They were even the first EDM producers to release exclusively on a streaming music site (Spotify). This being said they made their debut in 2011 with a remix of Avicii’s single “Sweet Dreams”
Soon after that release, they were signed by Avicii and his management company. That same year they released an official remix of Swedish House Mafia’s “Save the World” and an Adele remix of “Set Fire to the Rain”. Both of these remixes climbed the charts on Hype Machine’s trending downloads.
Soon after the praise that those two remixes brought, they were able to play at some of EDM’s biggest events around the world. Those included: Creamfields, Ultra, Tomorrowland, XS Las Vegas, and Radio City Music Hall. Also in 2012, they were able to release their Debut album Eject, releasing it on Spotify as the first EDM album released exclusively on that platform- as mentioned earlier. At the time this was something completely unheard of.
In 2015 their “Sleepless” single went gold in Sweden and has just over 92 million streams on Spotify today. The next year in 2016 they would stop touring to focus on studio work instead. After some time, they came to deliver on that focus. They released an EP Desserts and some other singles in 2017. Bringing us to the EP under our microscope this week, Stereo Mono, which was just released October 12th, 2018. All of their releases since 2016 really make evident the hard work they have put in at the studio, over the past year.
By taking the cassettes off their heads and putting them in the past, they have brought out the best Cazzette, especially with this new EP Stereo Mono.
