Croatia Squad but a Swiss man?
Alejandro Torres was born and raised in Bren, Switzerland. But his stage name Croatia Squad has a very special meaning and refers to when he spent time in Croatia when he was starting his career. This career building, in Croatia, helped him find his tech house vibe, so his name pays homage to that.
Starting only 4 years ago he has become recognized on the Nu-Cisco house music scene. He has been releasing on some of the biggest labels in EDM. Those include Toolroom Records, Enormous Tunes, Ministry Of Sound, and more. Then with his remix “Looking for a Meaning”, he made it onto the Beatport top 100.
In 2009 he ran a successful series “Croatia The Opening”. This series was a complication of some of the biggest names in the tech house scene. They also signed their first release, Electric Masquerade EP on the record label Enormous Tunes.
Then in 2013, they collaborated with Calippo, for “The Conductor”, which was signed to Ministry of Sound. Their single “Be Good To Me” was in the top 3 on Beatport for weeks and with that single, it brought attention to Croatia Squad from some of the biggest names on the globe. With previous releases like “Give it All Away” and All Alone EP they have been crowd pleasers ever since the release.
Torres was able to revolutionize the sound of European Dance music through genre shifts and changes to the tech House sound. He has changed dance music with his latest release Rock With Me EP– another tech house masterpiece. Croatia Squad is now one house DJ I would like to see in concert, from his Tech house to Bass House he could be the best thing to come out of Switzerland since watches and cheese.
Until next time.
